Amazing MALE Incisional Eyelid Surgery + Ptosis Correction !!

Let the photos speak for themselves, Dr. Goretti is the go-to surgeon for double eyelid surgery in the US! Since I was flying in from out-of-state, I knew I wanted someone who delivered not only great but also CONSISTENT results – given Dr. Goretti’s glowing YouTube testimonials, perfect 5-star rating for her eyelid surgery practice, and amazing before & afters, I knew to choose her. ****CONSULTATION**** Since I was out-of-state, I consulted with Dr. Goretti twice over FaceTime. During the 1st, I told her the look was going for. As a guy, I asked for a natural crease with only a small eyelid margin showing. Dr. Goretti suggested a 6mm (“low”) incisional crease for me, as well as a separate but simultaneous procedure called ptosis correction. I didn’t know much about ptosis correction and was skeptical of it at first, but Dr. Goretti took ample time to draw out a diagram to explain it during my second consultation (from my understanding, standard eyelid surgery is only crease formation, whereas ptosis correction actually opens the eyes larger by strengthening the levator muscle connection). I never felt rushed, and Dr. Goretti explained everything with such confidence and clarity that I knew I could trust her. Her assistant Carolyn was also super friendly and responsive in arranging the logistics of the operation. ****THE OPERATION**** A few days before, I filled my prescriptions for the Neomycin ointment and Valium, as well as buying 3000 GDU Bromelain and 30C Arnica Montana supplements, which would help with swelling and bruising respectively. I was super nervous the day-of, but Dr. Goretti gave one last consultation to take pictures, finalize the look, and address any questions I had. After that, Carolyn escorted me to the surgical building next door. Once there, Dr. Goretti was with me the whole time – she told me to take 4 of the prescribed Valium as sedatives, and marked up measurements while I was on the table. Then, it was a blur – I was aware of everything going on, but I just didn’t really think much of anything. The procedure was mostly painless aside from the anesthetic injection, just a bit of light tugging on my eyelids. She also told me to open my eyes at various times to guarantee symmetry. ***POST-OP*** Since I was alone, Dr. Goretti’s office has a post-op care lady who checked me out following the operation and drive me home (I didn’t need post-op care since it’s a minor procedure, but the law says that someone has to check you out). I honestly felt really energized immediately post-op, but I forced myself to stay in bed, watch movies, and diligently ice my eyes. I think the icing really helped keep my swelling down and the pain away – Day 3 is supposedly the worst for swelling, but my swelling didn’t even increase at all from how it was immediately post-op, and I didn’t even use the Tylenol I bought. At around 6pm the night of the operation, Dr. Goretti was so kind to call me to check-in on how I was doing, which really shows how much she cares for her patients. ***RECOVERY*** I was told to ice my eyes for the first week, apply the Neomycin ointment 3 times a day, take my supplements and avoid salty foods. Now, I iced my eyes very diligently for the first two days, but I admittedly got bored of staying in my room all day very fast. By the second day, I was already walking around Newport Beach quite a bit with my shades on, and by the fourth day I couldn’t resist salty foods anymore, including *multiple* In-N-Out burgers… oops :-). I met Dr. Goretti 1 week post-op to remove the stitches, and she remarked that I healed very fast (which was surprising given my laziness in aftercare, haha). Stitch removal was honestly the most painful part of everything – it stung quite a bit near the inner corners, but nothing I couldn’t handle. After that, I was on my way, and as soon as 8 days post-op I felt comfortable enough walking around without even wearing any frames! Bruising was completely gone within two weeks. ***NOW – 1 MONTH POST*** Incisions have healed smoothly – I just wash with cleanser and apply Aquaphor after. Swelling is nearly completely gone in my right eye but still slightly present in my left (which is weird, since my right was more swollen immediately post-op). There’s more swelling in the mornings, but seems entirely dissipated by afternoon/night. I can still “feel” the creases a little bit when I open my eyes, but there’s no discomfort at all and I’ve gotten pretty used to it. Looking back, I think I healed unexpectedly quickly. I looked natural and felt super comfortable with friends and family as soon as 9 days post-op despite my laziness in aftercare :’), but it could be because I’m a young, fairly in-shape guy with a super fast metabolism. I wish I wasn’t so nervous about the recovery process before! They continue to look more natural every week. Dr. Goretti gave me exactly the look I asked for, and now my eyes look brighter and more awake while still remaining very natural and Asian. The recovery process was a breeze, and her office and surgical staff exceeded my expectations in responsiveness and friendliness – her assistant Carolyn even offered to drive me to my car rental after stitch removal! Anyway, Dr. Goretti is an extremely gifted surgeon with an amazing eye for Asian aesthetics, especially for eyelid surgery. She genuinely cares for her patients and will not leave the room until every single one of your concerns are thoroughly addressed. I know she’s launching her solo practice soon, so I wish her all the success because she deserves it! My experience could not have been better, and I couldn’t recommend her more to anyone seeking blepharoplasty.

21 Years Old, my Eyes Are Finally Even and Awake!

The incision lines were clean and the swelling came down evenly, so I didn’t have to worry about assymmetry at all (my worst fear!) Before surgery, Dr. Ho made sure that I liked the shape and height – I wanted medium parallel-shaped eyelids. I initially thought I wanted the height of the eyelids bigger, but I’m glad she really understood the anatomy of my eyes and what would look most aesthetically compatible with my face.

For my first post-op visit, I had small raised scar forming one of my eyes from the epi, but after she injected a steroid shot, it has been healing as perfectly as the other eye. It has been 2 months post-op and they look really natural! Really happy with my results!

Upper Blepharoplasty Without Epicanthoplasty

I went in for a consultation with a friend and Dr. Taghva was nice enough to see us both at the same time. It’s been 3 months since my procedure and I cannot be happier. I initially wanted the epicanthoplasty as well because it was recommended to me by another surgeon in Irvine. However, Dr. Taghva advised that it was not necessary due to the shape of my eyes and the end result I was looking for. She truly cares about her patient’s post procedure satisfaction and does not try to up sell you for personal gain. She provides kenalog shots post procedure if you begin to develop any raised scar tissue, which did occur in my case and is actually quite common.

Best plastic surgeon ever

I had a revision double eyelid surgery with Dr. Ho and I am extremely happy with how it turned out. She knew what I wanted and she is very knowledgeable and knows what will work and what will not work and she will be honest with you. She truly cares about her patients wants and needs. Like everyone else says, she is very kind and beautiful, and her staff is amazing as well. I will always go to Dr. Ho’s clinic for any future surgeries and I’m already planning a fat graft with Dr Ho in the near future. This world needs more plastic surgeons like Dr. Ho!

The Best Eyelid Surgeon!

Dr. Ho Taghva is the perfect combination of a highly skilled surgeon and a talented artist. If you’re considering an eyelid surgery and reading this review, congratulations! Your search can end now because you’ve struck gold! Like most people, I was terrified of the idea of plastic surgery even though it was something I desperately wanted for a long time. Part of the concern was what if the surgery failed? I can safely say I spent about a month on RealSelf, browsing through every single doctor I could possibly find in Souther California who has performed plastic surgeries for the eye, answered patients questions about this procedure, and most importantly looked through all the before and after pictures of their work. Dr. Ho Taghva stood out the most as her work was consistently natural and excellent. Going in for her consultation, it was an even bigger surprise when I found out how incredibly nice she is, extremely knowledgeable and brutally honest. She tells you exactly what to expect, realistically what would look best for you, and wouldn’t push for any unnecessary work if the best results can be achieved with minimal work. I immediately felt relieved and knew hat I have found my doctor. Fast forward a few months, I was recovering very well thanks to Dr. Ho Taghva’s amazing work and continued communication whenever I had questions. Now that I’m 10 months post surgery, the results are amazing and I’m truly happy that I have found her! Dr. Ho Taghva left her previous group based in LA and is launching her own practice in Newport Beach. I would highly recommend her as the top plastic surgeon in Orange County, she is an excellent doctor and a decent human being, she truly deserves all the success.

AMAZING SURGEON

I have been contemplating for 10 years before pursuing this surgery. 7 years of eyelid glue had really made my eyelid sagged and I’m only 26. I had done my research on both the procedure and plastic surgeons for over a long period of time, even interviewed 2 well known PS with great reputation and years of experience with Asian eyelid surgery before I decided on an actual Doctor. After seeing a You Tube vlogger posted up her eyelid results done by Dr.Goretti I decided to do my research on Dr.Gorretti. There were nothing but good reviews and photos from patients of their amazing results. I was convinced that despite the years of experience these two PS candidate (I was going to go with) had over Dr.Goretti her work still out shine both those surgeons. Another thing I also look for in a surgeon is honesty, expertise and a realistic consultation with the actual Doctor not a consultant so I scheduled a consultation to meet up with Dr.Goretti. She was very honest, thorough and realistic about the results and guys it was there and then that I knew I found my surgeon who just isn’t skilled but have her ethical morals intacted. I later contacted the facility she used to work at but she was no longer available so I went out of my way to find her and contacted her and found out she’s opening up her own practice. We emailed back in forth inregard to my surgery and Doc was kind enough to redirect me back to Dr.peter lee to accommodate me since her practice wouldn’t be ready by the time I wanted to get my surgery done which of course I kindly declined cause I wanted Dr.Goretti so I waited for almost a year for Dr.Goretti. The wait was worth it!! One amazing thing I loved about Dr.Goretti is how she personally called me to check up on me a couple hours later after getting the surgery and that to me shows that Dr.Goretti is truely the amazing surgeon all her reviews claimed her to be, because honestly she could of had her assistant call me. Dr.Goretti truly cares about her patients so rest assure you’ll be in great hands if you choose Dr.Goretti as your plastic surgeon.

Eyelid Surgery- amazing result!

Dr Ho did an amazing job, she truly understood my needs. I wanted a natural look that goes with my eye shape, nothing dramatic. She recommended the suture technique, its also called the 6-point method. The whole process took about an hour, within 3 days swelling disappeared, no bruises. I didn’t take any painkillers during recovery. Within a week my eyes look so natural (see photos). Highly recommend Dr Ho!

Upper Blepharoplasty & Ptosis Correction

I’ve done a lot of research throughout the years and have always leaned towards Dr. Ho and I’m so glad I chose her to be my surgeon. The entire process went smoothly and she was very professional and very thorough every step of the way. And most of all, she did an AMAZING job on my eyes.
I opted for upper blepharoplasty and ptosis correction. I’ve always had heavier, thicker and droopy eyelids. I would always raise my eyebrows so that I can see better but it got to the point that I developed premature wrinkles on my forehead and headache through the day. I had eyelids but they were covered by my eyelids. My left eye was actually heavier than my right which you can clearly see in my ‘before’ picture.
Dr. Ho took her time to examine my eyes and suggested what she thought would look best. After she did her markings, I was given a shot to relax me. We then went into the operating room and everything was a blur after that. I don’t remember when they gave me the local anesthesia but I was still kind of aware of my surroundings. Dr. Ho would ask me to open and close my eyes several times during surgery. The surgery took a little over an hour. After surgery, I was given after-care instructions and was sent on my way home. I had my stitches removed 7 days later.
Everything went smoothly. The only pain I felt was about an hour after surgery but a tylenol took care of that. I heeded the doctor’s advice and iced my eyes as often as I can, slept with my head elevated, stayed away from salty foods and ate LOTS of fresh pineapple. I believe the pineapples helped de-swell my eyes a lot.
It’s been a month post op and my eyes came out exactly how I wanted them. I don’t need to raise my eyebrows to see better anymore. Some days they are more swollen than others depending on what I eat. I was told that it would take at least 6 months for the eyes to fully heal. The incision line is still red and my eyes are still a little swollen (my left more than my right) but I am in love with the results. My family, friends and fiance think she did an amazing job as well.
Overall, I have no regrets choosing Dr. Ho and I would recommend her to anyone that is considering Asian eyelid surgery.

Great Results

Long overdue, but well deserved review. Dr. Ho and the team at Wave really did a great job of accommodating me throughout my eyelid procedure process. I had my first consultation in July 2015 and the actual operation in January 2016. Dr. Ho truly understands what is best for her patients. I will definitely consider her for other procedures if needed.
